Fun Craft

Before we head to the pool there are chores to be done and this Mommy won't be the only one doing them.

We started chores before the swim club last summer but this year I'm taking it up a notch.

I had Jorja and Travis paint this little boxes ($1.19 at AC Moore). They both picked out a design to glue on ($0.50!) I bought Popsicle sticks from the dollar store and wrote a bunch of chores and inspiring phrases/thoughts. Each morning they get about 5 chores. Some are typical, make bed, brush teeth, some are a little more involved, vacuum upstairs, load dishwasher.

We started using them this weekend and it was a huge success. The kids love waking up to new chores and it's giving them a sense of responsibility.

Every now and then CJ and I will add a special one "Date with Daddy, Movie Night, or Kids Choice Dinner."
